Please see the post Drama!Drama!Drama! for the beginning of this series.

Art. It is a large subject, so for the sake of this discussion let’s limit it to just images, and then again maybe just to digital images. Keep in mind that art can cover just about any of the topics in this Elements series, but I want to talk about images of art right now in a digital medium.

I think it is really important to note how easily people connect with art.

Watch this clip (from our 2008 version  of JESUS Name Above All Names.)

There is a another man who used to be a part of our church who is an art major. He gave me a critical review of the a video I made for one of our productions. I used a series of classic art works on digital media set to a soundtrack. All of the art reflected the Crucifixion of CHRIST. He agreed with me that nothing really had to said about it for the art told the Gospel without the need of narration (he asked if he could use it during his worship seminar he was conducting in Idaho earlier this year). Art touches the hearts of people.

This next video was a part of our Easter cantata, which utilized many of the elements I have been chronicling here in this blog. This one used art (images) in video format over a soundtrack. The result was astonishing in my opinion, I knew that GOD was helping. The Scriptures declare that if we lift JESUS up, all men would be drawn to HIM. So everything got out of the way and I just tried to show JESUS lifted up.

The video is actually three scenes in our production since no narration was needed :

  • The Crucifixion, THIS IS THE PART I WANT YOU TO SEE, you can feel the since of dread that the crucifixion brought upon the land, even though the salvation CHRIST’s death brought forth, many thought they were seeing the end of their hope at that time. I tried to capture that in the music selection.
  • It Is Finished!” I was still experimenting with various earthquake effects in my video software and never quite got it right ..still embarrassed by the lack of excellence in this (There has got to be a better way to do that!), The second video clip was a much improved version in 2008; and
  • “I Know WHO YOU Are” a soundtrack for a song in which I wrote lyrics to at the end. That last piece will probably not make much sense without the words or actors, so please understand wha the last section is about.

Anyway, here is the video.

And here is the 2008 version

Enjoy.
